Home at last

We arrived home sometime in the afternoon on Christmas. So far, Syla has been a great baby! She spends most of her time sleeping. It might just be a baby thing, but she is a heavy sleeper, just like her dad! I've been kind of trying to keep her awake more in the day, and all my attempts fail. We are still working on nursing. A lot of times, she falls asleep before she is full and then wakes up about an hour later smacking together her lips and demanding food. Mushi is still unsure what to think of her, he is very curious about her, but he is also terrified of her! I think they will become great friends! Omar was finally off work last night, so we went to visit his parents so they could meet Syla. She doesn't mind being passed from person to person, which I think is a good thing. I don't even mind it as much as I thought I would. Oh, and I'm pretty sure his parents are absolutely in love with her! My mom and my sister will be here in less than two weeks, I'm excited for them to get to meet her. Unfortunately, Syla has to stay away from crowded placed until she is a month old, so I'm not too sure what we will do.

I keep noticing many new changes within myself. I think I am so caught up with her needs, I've been forgetting about my own. I went from being hungry basically all the time, to not even thinking about hunger. I can also breathe again, I was starting to forget how that feels. Also, I really enjoy not having to pee constantly! I've lost somewhere around fifteen pounds so far. Eventually, I hope to weigh 125 or 130, but I know that's a while away. Currently, I am about 185 pounds, but it seems to drop each day. I also noticed that my complexion looks really good. I'm really not sure what's up with that, but I like it! I also feel like my sense of hearing has increased and I seem to be extra in tuned to the cries of babies.

Omar is working all day today, so it'll just be me and the baby! Unfortunately, Omar has been stuck working a lot. When I ask him about the vacation time he was told he could get, he seems doubtful. Luckily, he is off all day Wednesday and Thursday, so we can have some family time. I think I'll spend a lot of today cleaning and getting the house reorganized. Also, I might try some more strategies to keep the baby awake more in the day!
